My mom died in 1992, but in the months before her death, I “received” the title for this song. I just knew I had to write this song, and that it would be called what it’s called. It took me 7 years to write it. Losing a mom is hard. It wasn’t until my brother Mike turned up a box of letters mom had written to her dad when she was just married and pregnant with her first child (Mike) that I had the key to the story of the song.
